Fitness Friday: Benefits of Lime & Cucumber Detox Water

Happy Friday Love! I finally got around to making my Limes & Cucumbers Detox Water. I am pretty sure this drink has been around for a long time, but I only heard about it last year when I started writing fitness posts. When I heard detox, the words losing weight quick came to mind. I thought it was one of those drinks that make you lose 20 pounds in 10 days. Don’t get me wrong! Your body will benefit from drinking this water. The benefits range from having less blemishes on your face to feeling less bloated. 

My water detox was done without the mint leaves. I kept it in the fridge for the whole night to let the limes and the cucumbers marinate. About 8 glasses a day was what I was able to drink for a full week.

Here is what I noticed after the first week:

It was easier for me to got to the bathroom. There are now  less blemishes on my face. I guess that had to do with the fact that Limes contain a great amount of vitamin C. By the third day, I felt less bloated. My stomach became less upset after I eat any big meal. That’s what encouraged me to keep doing this detox. Not having to buy Tums every month is a good thing. What a good way to enjoy drinking water, too! The flavor is awesome. I squeezed some lime juice in the water, and that makes it taste so much better. I think the only weight that I lost was water weight. Nothing to jump on the bed about. I will continue to drink it to see if I will lose a few inches around my waist .
