Today is all about OGX Orchid shampoo and hair conditioner. The new OGX Orchid line is all about protecting your hair color. Whether you swim in the pool a lot, or spend a lot of time in the sun, these products promise to slow down fading and provide moisture to your hair. If your hair loves orchid or grapeseed oil, your hair will benefit from these products. The box that I received contains the Orchid shampoo and conditioner, their Lavender Platinum oil from a different line, and their Shea soft and smooth hair butter, which can be used as a leave-in or rinse out.

What I find appealing about the OGX brand is their way of challenging you to embrace your natural beauty and have fun with your hair. This summer they want you to share your hair journey with them for a chance to win a year of OGX hair products for free. All you have to do is post a picture of your hair journey on Instagram with the #OGXhairtruths. I receive 2 to 3 boxes of OGX hair product a year. And so far I have been satisfied with most of their hair products. So, don’t miss the opportunity to get free hair products.

The OGX Orchid line smells very flowery. It contains Accai Berry extract and a bunch of other antioxidants. Both the shampoo and conditioner are sulfate-free. Like mentioned above, these products contain UVA/UVB to help protect your natural or artificial hair color.
I am not really the right person to try these products because I have no problem with color fading. My daughter is a swimmer. I will definitely try these products on her hair to see if the reddish color on her hair will go away or stay protected by the products. Her hair becomes brown-ish red every summer, although her natural hair color is black. I know it has to do with her spending a lot of time in the pool and the sun. I also know I should use sunscreen on her hair, but I am imperfect like you and do forget to do it.
My experience:
I did use all the products on my hair, but was not impressed with the results. The shampoo was not very moisturizing on my kinky hair. My hair did not feel clean after I used it either. So if you need immediate moisture, this shampoo is not for you. The conditioner was okay. My hair was slightly moisturized after using it. Both products smell divine and I love the packaging. But the truth is, they were not formulated for my hair type. It is worth mentioning that my hair felt stronger after using the hair butter, which I used as a rinse out. The Lavender oil exceeded my expectations. I loved the shine and the softness after using it.
